XWA Offline Self-Training Status
Frustration Level: High
Well, I keep getting my ass kicked weather I play teamed up with, or against a human. I see no improvement in my flight skills...it's kinda hard to improve when you can't last 15 seconds. So I am at the crossroads of uninstalling XWA, or just going it alone...not sure what to do...Maybe I'm just being a whiny bitch. Not sure right now.
I have even further frustration that I can't convince more pilots to show up and play besides the three mentioned in previos posts. The field is so narrow, there's no way in hell I can improve my flight skills...as I said before, I always lose no matter what I try.
When there's no one at your level to test yourself against, what's the point?

A good night
NJS and I had a pretty good night.... We played 1v1 as well as more complex missions; either on the same team or against one another.
My skill improved quite a bit drilling with NJS in 1v1, but he is still the better pilot in a H2H match. :(
We tried some A/G drills...and it worked out OK for the most part. (NJS) He's tough to cover because his wingman cannot predict him, AND I don't have a headset for TS yet, damn cats ate the last one's wires...so communication is rough.
We also had a couple games where we were on the same side in Complex Attacks that included capitol ships. I prefer a B-Wing lor X-Wing for missions like that, and to be employed in the Anti-Ship role, but that's just me. So keep in mind folk, as a lesson learned, engaging the fighters is worth more points than killing an ISD and an INT in the same mission :(
I keep trying to get him to do a 8P Complex Multi-Region Attack, with us on opposite sides, but I don't think he can find them on the list of available missions. It would be interesting to see how we match up to each other...when we have a hard time just FINDING each other, LOL.
We had a good time...MORE PEOPLE NEED TO JOIN US!!!
LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY NRN!!!

Played some PvP
I've been playing some PvP with NJS and Photon_R....and getting MANHANDLED! Quite humbling, actually.

T/F MADNESS (Simulator Mission)
I restarted Campain mode, so I am unable to take video right now. I will start putting vids into Xfire as soon as I am able.
Today's results in the simulator playing TIE MADNESS for 20 minutes was:
63 Kills
7 Assists
19 Deaths

Update
My first run through the campaign as Ace Azzameen is completed. I have created a new pilot file as NRN_Spartan, and started a new capaign and will be using this persona for all online flights.
I have also kicked up the AI skill level to ACE & SUPER ACE levels. I still have some work to do in order to master beating the computer!

Self Retraining Complete
I have reached a platue as far as self paced retraining is concerned. The only way to make additional progress as a pilot is to go H2H with another Human. AI is way to easy.

Keep in mind that all offline game play has been part of my personal assesment of, well, myself. So TOD data, Azzameen missions, and Simulator Data are also included in my assesments.

Academy Curriculum
Basic flight & fight curiculum has been mastered, The HTH, The Merge (The Turns as some instructors call it) and the Knife Fight has been mastered against AI Ace level oponants. Actual players have not been around at all. I can take on a TD in a Z-95 now...add increasing odds as I go. Basic 101 fighting has been mastered. I eat AI fighters at the Ace level or lower more readily than I eat bacon for breakfast.
I can chew up most capitol ships solo as well. Provided it doesn't have the nasty prefixs of MOD, ASLT or ESCT in front of it, as these were designed to discourage snub-fighter attacks. ISD II's are pretty tasty, even with fighter support, I've even Vaped a SSD as well. *Nom Nom Nom, Starships.*
I need time with an actual player online so that I can asses myself apropriatly and put in for my first set of wings.

Days 3, 4 & 5
The campaign has become much easier now that I have rediscovered the best techniques for dodging incoming fire from AI's. Evasion of Missiles fired from AI Fighters is also easier now that I have rediscovered countermeasures and my marksmanship has improved considerably...so now I just shoot the missile and get on the buggers tail....then fry his sorry Imp tail for shooting at me.
Simulator is fun as usual. I keep playing with settings and attackind different ships. Days 3 & 4 were mainly 1 v 1 engagements. Me Vs. a Capitol Ship. I discovered last night that I CAN beat an SSD by myself, but not within the 20 minute time limit in the simulator. These engagements are designed to improve my Cannon Gunnery Skills and my skills in picking an enemy vessel apart piece by piece; turret by turret.
Day 6 will be me setting up engagements agains Super Ace AI's and going against them in matching craft. Once I get this down well enough that I can take on 3-1 odds I'll be begging for PvP action.
I could really use some instructor time...I feel less like a Flight Cadet and more like a hired Merc right now.......BUT maybe that's just me, who knows.
